The Blessing of the Fleet

Collin Hewitt, a member of the Swansboro High School Symphonic Band, played Taps during the Blessing of the Fleet on the afternoon of Friday, Oct. 8. About a dozen boats gathered for the Swansboro Mullet Festival of North Carolina event in the White Oak River near Casper’s Marina. The Rev. Tom Tapping of One Harbor Church presented the blessing. Despite some rain, “I’m very pleased with the way everything went,” Anna Stanley, Swansboro Parks and Recreation director, said.
