Juanita “Nita” Moore Jarman, 88, of Beaufort, passed away Monday, May 18, 2020, at home surrounded by her family.

Her memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.

Nita was born June 4, 1931, in Beaufort to Isaac “Ikie” and Mary “Polly” Moore. She was married to the late Charles Calvin Jarman. Nita graduated from Beaufort High School and worked for the town of Beaufort until her retirement. She was a lifelong member of Ann Street United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her two children, Paula Ann Jarman Taylor of Beaufort and Chuck Jarman and his wife JoAnn of Georgetown, S.C.; four grandchildren, Walt and wife Christie Taylor of Windham, N.H., Corey and wife Janie Taylor of Beaufort, Evan and wife Erin Jarman of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., and Anna and husband Steven Zitnick of Columbia, S.C.; two great-grandchildren, Hadley and Madison Zitnick; and numerous nieces, nephews and a large, self-adopted family to whom she was known as “The Ma.”
