SPD, Allstate support students

Area students went back to school on Monday, Aug. 26, and for the third year in a row Swansboro Police Department provided them supplies with its annual Back To School Supply Drive. More than $7,000 in school supplies was collected this year, some which is displayed by Lt. Dwayne Taylor. Organized by Sherrie Hancock, administrative assistant, supplies have been distributed at Swansboro area schools. Much of the funding for this year’s collection – thanks to a $10,000 grant – came through Allstate Insurance, according to Tammy Fry, Swansboro Allstate agent. (Williams photo)
