Swansboro’s hunt for a town manager is over.

In an email, Cedar Point Clerk Jayne Calhoun announced Chris Seaberg, currently the Cedar Point town administrator, will leave to take the Swansboro manager post.

“Mr. Chris Seaberg has accepted a position (with) Swansboro as town manager,” she said in the email. “We here at town hall are like a big family, and we will surely miss Chris, but wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.”

Reached by telephone for a comment, Seaberg said he is excited to have the opportunity,

“This is a great career move for me,” he said. “I really like the board and the mayor.”

Swansboro Mayor John Davis expects Seaberg to take over as Swansboro manager in September.

Seaberg replaces Scott Chase, who left the job of Swansboro manager in January. He was hired as an assistant manager by the town of Holly Springs.

Jon Barlow served as Swansboro’s interim manager until he stepped down on June 11. Since then, Paula Webb, assistant town manager, has served as interim manager.
