Free meals

Free meals are served at the following locations:

•    First Baptist Church “Five Loaves,” 403 Ann St., Beaufort: 6 p.m. Monday.

•    Calvary Baptist Church “Two Fishes Café,” 119 Bunch Road, Beaufort: 6 p.m., first, third and fourth Thursday.

•    Hope Mission, 1410 Bridges St., Morehead City: 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. seven days a week.

•    Leon Mann Jr. Enrichment Center, 3820 Galantis Drive, Morehead City: 11:15 a.m. Monday through Friday for those over 50 who are likely to eat there three times per week. Advance reservations that morning are requested.

Food pantries

Here is a list of community food pantries:

•    Loaves and Fishes Thrift Shop and food pantry, Beaufort Plaza Shopping Center, Beaufort: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., first three Mondays of the month, 252-504-0123.

•    Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry, Harkers Island Fire Department: noon to 1 p.m., fourth Tuesday of each month, 252-418-8020.

•    ACTS Food Pantry, 450 Highway 70, Bettie: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, 252-728-1414.

•    Calvary Baptist Church, 119 Bunch Road, Beaufort: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the fourth Monday of the month.

•    St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 215 Ann St., Beaufort: must be sent from County Department of Social Services, 252-728-3324.

•    Glad Tidings Church “Daily Bread Ministries,” 4621 Country Club Road, Morehead City: call for information, 252-726-0160.

•    The Salvation Army, 810 Arendell St., Morehead City: 1 to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday, except the third Tuesday and Wednesday of each month. For more information, 252-726-7147.

•    Martha’s Mission Cupboard, 901 Bay St., Morehead City: need a voucher from DSS. For information, call 252-726-1717.

•    Matthew 25, St. James United Methodist Church, 1007 Orange St., Newport: 10 a.m. to noon, Monday and Thursday, 252-223-4231.

•    The Storehouse, 3114 Bridges St., Morehead City: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday, by appointment, 252-725-5539.

•    God’s City of Refuge, 953 Hibbs Road, Newport: 10 a.m. to noon the third Saturday every other month.

•    Wildwood Presbyterian Church, 276 Wildwood Road, Newport: 4 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays for produce and baked goods. A bag of non-perishable food and frozen meat may be reserved by signing up at the church on those days.

N.C. Food Truck visits and food giveaways

Here is a list of churches where the N.C. Food Truck visits on a monthly basis:

•    Faith Tabernacle of Praise, 413 Highway 101, Beaufort: 1 to 3 p.m., second Monday of each month.

•    God’s City of Refuge, 953 Hibbs Road, Newport: begins at noon the third Friday every other month.

•    St. James United Methodist Church, 1007 Orange St., Newport: fresh vegetables given 7 to 8 a.m., Mondays: 9 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. the last Thursday of each month. Thanksgiving and Christmas food handouts posted on bulletin board at Matthew 25.

•    Calvary Baptist Church, 119 Bunch Road, Beaufort: 10 a.m. the fourth Monday of each month.

•    Woodville Baptist Church, 450 Highway 70, Bettie: 11 a.m. the third Friday of each month.

•    Lighthouse Community Church, 2015 Highway 70 East, Stacy: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for residents from Smyrna to Cedar Island the second and fourth Saturdays of the month.

•    The Salvation Army, 810 Arendell St., Morehead City:  9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

•    St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church Thrift Shop, 1107 Arendell St., Morehead City: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

•    Straits United Methodist Church Thrift Shop, 311 Straits Point Road, Straits: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday and Saturday.

•    Hope Mission has two thrift stores, 1502 Bridges St. and 1504 Bridges St., Morehead City: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

•    Caroline’s Collectables Thrift Shop to benefit the Carteret County Domestic Violence program, 3716 Arendell St., Morehead City: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, 252-726-3081.

Benevolence funds

•    Hope Mission, 1410 Bridges St., Morehead City: 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday (the last check in is taken at 10:30 a.m.).
