A new Zogby poll says President Trump is “killing it.”
Attributing the rise in Mr. Trump’s popularity primarily to the strong economy, the Zogby poll said Mr. Trump’s job approval has risen to more than 50% — actually 51% — the highest it has been since he was elected in 2016. His approval is now higher than that of former President Obama’s at the same in his presidency.
What’s more, the Zogby poll says the majority of millennials (ages 18-29) give Mr. Trump a 51% approval rating in his performance, and those ages 25-34 give him an even higher approval rating of 53%.
The Zogby poll says 58% of men approved of Mr. Trump, while it found 48% of women approved what he is doing.
While 48% of voters in suburbia gave Mr. Trump high performance marks, in rural areas that number jumped to 60% who approved his job performance.
“President Trump’s job approval rating has seen a post-Mueller report boost,” said Mr. Zogby. “We called it a few weeks ago. But that’s not the complete story as to why the president has reached a peak in his job approval rating. Trump is also riding high on positive economic news — a record high stock market, low unemployment and solid GDP growth at home.
“One of the demographics to give Trump a very good job performance rating,” Mr. Zogby continued, “were self-identified social networkers (59% approve/40% disapprove — people who engage with social media) … The president also made strides with college educated voters (55% approve/45% disapprove), and saw support increase slightly among non-college educated voters (47% approve/50% disapprove).”
All in all, as Mr. Trump might say were he asked, “What else would you expect?”
