Louise Garland Ramsdell, 104, of Wilmington, passed away Friday, May 24, 2019, at Snug Harbor on Nelson Bay in Sea Level. She has family in Carteret County.

Her service will be held in Wilmington at a later date.

Throughout her life, Mrs. Ramsdell was a homemaker, a deaconess at Carolina Beach Presbyterian Church, a consulting rosarian for the American Rose Society and a certified Red Cross water safety instructor.

Mrs. Ramsdell is survived by her three children, Nancy L. Krauth of Smyrna, Ga., Malcolm C. Garland and wife Randy of Morehead City and Dr. Virginia E. Garland and partner Bill Hickmott of Nottingham, N.H.; grandchildren, Chandler Garland and wife Nancy of Harkers Island and Carl Krauth III of Seattle, Wash.; great-grandchildren, Carlie Ansel, Abigail Garland, Chandler Douglas Garland and Silas Garland; great-great-grandchild, Alice Ansel; niece, Bianca Angeli and spouse; nephew, Wesley Rich and spouse, all of New York; and her beloved dog, Lexi.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Anna Rich; her first husband of 47 years, Chandler K. Garland; second husband, Charles Ramsdell; and a grandson, Nathanael Garland.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Louise Garland Ramsdell’s name can be given to the New Hanover County Humane Society, 2405 N. 23rd St., Wilmington, NC 28401.
