WILLIAM MADSON JR.

William “Bill” Madson Jr., 70, of Asheville, formerly of Carteret County, passed away Saturday, May 25, 2019, at John F. Keever Jr. Solice Center in Asheville.

There will be no formal service.

Bill led a life of service. From serving in Vietnam on the U.S.S. Coral Sea, to working for American Airlines for 35 years, to working for the First Baptist and First United Methodist churches in Morehead City as a custodian, he brought optimism, a hard work ethic and a sense of humor to all he served. His favorite act of service as the No. 1 fan of the New York Giants and Chicago Cubs was second only to his first – serving as Pops to his five grandchildren, Keaveny, Zoe, Fiona, Rosalie and Will.

Bill will be lovingly remembered and cherished by his wife of 48 years, Pat. Their love and care for each other was unparalleled and a beautiful example to their children and their spouses, Bill, Stephanie, Tara and Kirk.

To honor and celebrate his life and love of helping others, please consider making a donation in his honor to Take a Kid Fishing Foundation Inc. online at takf.com/donate/.
