Cardelle Jean Redmann, 88, of Newport, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2019, at The Cottages of Swansboro.

A remembrance service will take place Sunday, July 28 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Havelock after the morning services. She will be laid to rest with her family in Colrain, Mass.

Mrs. Redmann was born in Colrain April 8, 1931. She resided in Newport for 48 years, where she also taught in the Newport school system. She loved her students and was honored to contribute to their education over the 30-plus years that she taught there. Mrs. Redmann loved roses and enjoyed nurturing the rose bushes in her backyard. She also loved to read and could often be found with a good book in hand.

Mr. and Mrs. Redmann were founding members of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Havelock.

“Mrs. Redmann will be dearly missed by family and friends. May she rest in peace in the arms of our Lord.”

She is survived by her son, Paul Redmann and wife Becky of Henderson, Nev.; sisters, Elizabeth Gilderdale and Constance Gilderdale, both of Sharon, Conn.; two grandsons; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Redmann Sr.; parents, Burton and Grace Guilderdale; and brother, Wallace Gilderdale.
