Willis' MHP park residents charged

MOREHEAD CITY -- Two city residents were arrested Friday on felony drug charges following an investigation prompted by numerous citizen complaints.

The Morehead City Police Department's undercover investigation led to the execution of a search warrant at dinnertime Friday at Lot No.10 at Willis' Mobile Home Park.

Arrested at the scene were Danny Harlen May, 58, and Bonnie Allen May, 59. Both were charged with trafficking opium, six counts of posession with intent to sell and deliver Schedules II, III, IV and VI and 20 counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver within 1,000 feet of a school or child care center.

Confiscated at the scene was crack cocaine, marijuana, pills and cash.

Mr. May was placed under a $1.5 million bond. Ms. May under a $500,000 bond.

    I'm not sure how anyone could be selling with the amount of cop cars rolling in and out of that place. A one point, I thought that Morehead had put up a precinct back there. Nonetheless, nice to see your tax dollars in action.
