MOREHEAD CITY According to the Morehead City Fire Department Facebook page, firefighters reported early Monday morning to an activated fire alarm in a four-story residential structure on the Morehead City waterfront.

Upon arrival of Engine No. 1, no fire or smoke was visible. Firefighters walked around the structure and discovered the waterfront side of the home was on fire.

Thanks to a monitored fire alarm system and quick response of firefighters, the fire was contained to the second floor, the Facebook post said. No further information was available.
