TO THE EDITOR:

As the N.C. Maritime Museums 2018 Junior Sailing Program kicks off, we enter our 26th year of this popular program.

The generosity of Hans and Christian Weygoldt, their family, the Moehring Group, and all the staff at the Atlantic Veneer Corp. has made it possible to maintain this youth program during the years of the Gallants Channel bridge construction.

In 2014, the construction of the Gallants Channel Bridge temporarily forced the program off the waterfront at the Museum’s Gallants Channel site. Having the support of Atlantic Veneer in the meantime has been great.

The Moehring Group and Atlantic Veneer Corp. have been wonderful hosts. Without the continued use of the Atlantic Veneer waterfront at the east end of Taylor’s Creek, we would have been forced to suspend this highly cherished youth program!

The Friends of the N.C. Maritime Museum, which administers the Junior Sailing Program, is very appreciative of Atlantic Veneer for working with us to allow the program to continue to operate by providing a great waterfront venue!

Thank you Atlantic Veneer!
