Timothy Paul Lewis, 59, of Morehead City, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2019, at PruittHealth in Sea Level.
His service is at 3 p.m. Sunday at Smyrna Pentecostal Holiness Church, officiated by the Rev. William O’Neal and the Rev. Randy Moore. Interment will follow at Carteret Memorial Gardens.
Timothy was born and raised in Marshallberg. He started working for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration shortly after graduating high school, and his career with them would last more than 40 years until his retirement. Timothy was a member of Smyrna Pentecostal Holiness Church and he enjoyed carving model boats in his free time. He was a born seaman who traveled all over North America and made his home on the boat.
He is survived by his daughter, Tiffany Lewis Johnson and husband Timothy of Havelock; brothers, Ernest Lewis and wife Katheryn Gail of Marshallberg and Jeffrey Lewis and wife Deborah of Otway; twin grandsons, Micah and Alexander; and many loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Mary Lewis; sister, Vicky Lewis Long; and brothers, Douglas Ray Lewis and Carlyle “Sonny Boy” Lewis.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
